Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 aka: The final Late Late Show of the year. After this it's reasonable starting times from here on out and nothing but EDT starting next Friday.Lugo (as per Matz's latest set-back) vs CuetoThe good news is that they're scheduled to get both Cespedes and Cabrera back, and also a possible return of the non-DL'd Neil Walker (for a day or two anyway until the baby alarm sounds). The bad news is that the guys voted as 'Most likely to be bumped' are the only ones hitting lately: Ty Kelly (4 for his last 9 + 5 BBs and good defense); TJ Rivera (.355 over 31 ABs); Justin Ruggiano (3/5 last night incl a GS)Already a swap has been made of LHRs as they've opened up the window to let the Edgin out and the (Josh) Smoke® waft in.More details as they happen ... but only if you keep it where it is.

Niese didn't last 4 innings and he's getting another start. IMO Sandy didn't do a good job stocking the system.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 How about a decent rotation in Vegas? I don't care what the other teams do, this is supposed to be a championship-level team but it's a team which scrounges for starters.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2016 Author Posted August 19, 2016 Oh good, a ten minute delay!!!I was beginning to worry that these west coast starts and 3-1/2 games* weren't making the games late enough.* last four games: 3:29; 3:24; 2:53 (ARZ); 3:30 (SF)
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 What a opportunity for Seth Lugo, starting his 1st MLB game. Yo go Lugo!Gelbs tosses some hard "why are they stealing" questions to lil d' and Travis deflects them, somewhat like he does with balls in the dirt.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2016 Author Posted August 19, 2016 So not only does yet another one of our already rare hit w/RiSP fail to actually score a run but it all followed yet another failed Sac Bunt which could have scored the run one play earlier.Bottom line: 3 hits in an inning and 8 in 5 innings yet the only run is ... say it with me folks ... a Solo HR!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2016 Author Posted August 19, 2016 57 pitches to get through six innings for Lugo.Lately that's where Syndergaard and Matz have been after about three.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Hunter Pence illegally downloads Olson Twins movies.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Lugo: Shittin' you.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 So, this is how those teams who hit the other way play.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Big test for Jay Bruise here.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2016 Author Posted August 19, 2016 I don't think Jay has Bruised a baseball since about the Yanqui series.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Shoulda gone the other way and stuff.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 He gets an F, as in Fuck Me.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2016 Author Posted August 19, 2016 Same Shit Different Day: They get two-out hits w/RiSP, we don't.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Alternating crap defense with outstanding defense tonight. Both teams, kinda.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2016 Author Posted August 20, 2016 I mean, this game was essentially over as soon as the Giants got their 2nd run anyway -- and if it wasn't over then then it was when Bruce GiDP'd -- but, man, this team finds new and interesting ways to blow games on a nightly basis. SF has about 3 or 4 decently hit balls all game and has a 5-run lead. This 3-run (and counting) 9th inning has consisted of six ground balls, two of which left the infield.oe: and now it's a 5-run inning.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 I think we'll be lucky to hold off the Phillies
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Pathetic folks. Absolutely pathetic. Stick a freakin' fork in 'em.Maybe I'll feel better tomorrow. Like yesterday. And the day before. And the day before. Each loss is like the worst.
