Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 The April Mets returned the field again last night, as the team lit up Chicago pitching to the tune of five home runs, and now a team that had been floundering for five weeks is in a position to take a series from what had seemed to be the best team in the league. Two Cy Young winners match up in this game, the visitors coming with 2015 NL winner Jake Arrieta, and the home team defending with 2004 AL winner Bartolo Coln.In a surprising move, both pitchers have both agreed to take the mound naked, demonstrating their singular prowess and commitment to classical ideal of athletic competition as an offering to the gods.[fimg=400]http://a3.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=%2Fphoto%2F2016%2F0701%2Fr98719_2926x3600cc.jpg&w=1140&cquality=40[/fimg]

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 I gots no problem with activating him to be a reserve. If Grandy can't go, we gots three outfielders and Kelly Johnson pretending. Fourth outfielder > 13th pitcher.Besides Terry has shown he's no Jerry when it comes to players on the rocks. He's going to find a role for you right up until the day you're released.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Unless Curtis is going on the DL, this has to be DeAza's swan song, right?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Certainly a swan song for that two-run homer that Walker hit.But no, I'm guessing that, barren any DL trips by Grandy or another, that De Aza lasts at least until Reyes arrives.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Hey, Fox, stop talking about the Yankees. Thanks.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Cool. Two-run flare where Baez tried to pull a Wright.Only one Wright, Baez.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Cespedes with a chance to bust it open here.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Mets strand a pair of runners after opening the inning with a pair of singles.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Nice at-bat by DeAza and Travis!
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Mets at the corners with 1 out in the bottom of the 6th. Best news, Arrieta is done for the night and the Mets are into the bullpen.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 (edited) Lagares is back? Who went down or to the DL? Edited July 2, 2016 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Lugo did. READ THE ROSTER THREAD, YOU MOKES!
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Damn! Lagares grounds into a 5-4-3 DP to end the inning. Now it is in the hands of the bullpen.

Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 And here's where that double play immediately comes back to hurt us!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Phew.Six more outs. But hopefully none of them will be Bryant.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Reed with the strike out of Kris Bryant to end the inning. Mets lead 4-3 going to the bottom of the 7th. We need some insurance runs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Well, I'd certainly like some. The Edwards, Jr. guy the Cubs are bringing in to face Cspy looks about 15.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Grown-up fastball, though. Yikes.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 His uniform looks way nto big for him, but he blew away Cespedes on 3 fastballs away. You can't do much with that pitch, unless you're willing to go the other way with it, as Cespedes just showed. Most hitters that try to pull good fastballs on the black (away) at the knees are are playing into the pitcher's hands.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Whiffing catchers left and right. Four more to go.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 After a lead off single by Rizzo. Addison Reed strikes out the side.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Reed looks to be over whatever was ailing him during the last couple weeks!
