Lynch, Terrell, Gooden Darling, 1984

What band of spikes is Doc wearing?
You got Addidas, Converse, ?? and (I think) ROOS l-r]http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_-2gf151WQ-A/TSoy5h4uZmI/AAAAAAAACtg/7yMPJCXtfP0/s1600/sid%2Bfernandez%2B10.jpg>
Aguilera, Gooden, Fernandez, Ojeda, Darling, circa 1988

Famous rare shot of Sid wearing No. 10. He chickened out of Darling's scheme to dress all Mets starters in the teens. (Aguilera switched 38 to 15 and stayed).

Re: Photo Phriday: Pitching Rotations

Good catch on Sid. I was hoping that the 10 would indicated the year of that undated photo. Is '88 correct?

I was thinking Doc was in Ponys (which were standard issue for the Mets in the early 80s, but they had a downward pointing Chevron.

OE: Brooks?

That how to wear a baseball uniform. I'm old school, I just don't understand players wearing wearing their pants down past their ankles. Viva the stirrup socks!

Re: Photo Phriday: Pitching Rotations

Is holding the baseballs right up to the camera lense just a pitcher group photo cliche or are they making a deliberate callback to the earlier photos?

I think it's just a cliche pose.

Re: Photo Phriday: Pitching Rotations

I wanted to put these side by side and see how close I got. Darling came out the best.
Gooden, I think I gave him too much of a smirk but I like how he came out. I may have opened his eyes a little bit.
Ojeda. That looks like Ojeda now, in 2016! Look at those beady eyes....
I scrunched Sid's head a bit. Lil' bit. Bit the brows are PERFECT!

That's s some pretty terrific mixed media. You're pretty great at this stuff.

It would undermine the intend lefty/righty balance, but you could have probably extracted Aggie from this one:

Thank you sir. I don't do much drawing by hand these days and I should do more. All up in graphics and composition. I've become a scavenger artist.

Removing Aggie could be done in 3 smudges but there's no way I'm going to get involved in an image that includes those style jerseys. Lets gather up all pictures of those and the block letter NEW YORK ones and burn them. Hey! Maybe that's what the team needs. They've been talking about it but they don't know what to burn!

METS: BURN THOSE UNIFORMS!

I'm afraid there is something wrong with Doc. In every recent pic I've seen he looks worst than that last (tho they were taken in the same week)
