Jacob deGrom is getting into badass form, striking out three and giving up but one hit in his three innings. Mr. Matz wasn't as successful, giving up three runs in four innings of work.

The Neo-Deadball Era continues as only one of the Mets' nine hits went for extra base, compared to three of nine for the Marlins. None flew over the fence. Curtis Granderson had two hits and is up to .357. Cespedes went 1-1 and is at .381.

Johnny Monell (.389) is threatening to make the team, perhaps as an extra bat if the team breaks camp with 11 pitchers, possibly as the backup catcher dude, if they decide to get Plawecki more plaworki.
