Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Magic. That Cuddy card looks like it came right out of that year's set.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 All class, man. Am I right this is Grandy's 1st POTM?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 Yes, it's his first. (He was bench player of the month in April.)
Guest sharpie Guests Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 My guess is that Bartolo's one relief inning moved him past deGrom.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 You're right. He earned 0.68 points that game, and that was the difference.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Wow, clever move, Fartolo!I imagine he volunteered for bullpen duty with the Schaefer trophy in his sites.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 Bartolo did something similar last year, talking Terry into skipping deGrom's last start of the season so that Colon could be Pitcher of the Year.Jeurys Familia, by the way, has totally left Brian Stokes in the dust.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Magnifique! Granderson looks very good as a player of the month, said some crank who at some point said there was something about him he couldn't quite warm to. I'm far warmer these days, which is an appropriate response to the hottest player from the third-hottest New York August on record.Skipping Harvey starts played havoc on a 0.33 ERA pitcher, but one has to admire Bartolo's tenacity. And congratulations, Michael Cuddyer, on finding your niche and earning a Grimm Classic.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Yes - superlative as always!
