The funny thing is, a deal can certainly go down but not be announced until after the deadline. But it won't matter, because if the deadline passes without news, crazy-assed folks is gonna burn down the ballpark.

Things probably more close to the vest after the Gomez fiasco.
They could have landed Fishneritz and a few prospects but won't
leak it until all the i's and t's and z's are all lined up.
