Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 [crossout]Some guy on the Internet[/crossout] reports the Mets have interest in A's OF Josh Reddick. He's a good hitter, dirtbag type, but could he play center field?Turns out it was none other than Tracksuit Martino who kinda suggests:Another As player to monitor is outfielder Josh Reddick. The Mets inquired about Reddick, but came away dubious that Beane would trade him, according to sources. But were keeping an eye on this player, who would help this non-existent offense.

(just reading his stats and usage there)Decent enough player. Could be useful.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 His Twitter feed is full of WWE references. It's hard to imagine him costing too much in trade. He looks more comfortable in RF or LF (only 19 career starts in CF). But the 2015 Juan Lagares in CF is not the 2014 Juan Lagares in CF, either. He would make the outfield very left-leaning when added to Conforto, Newwy and Granderson.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 If the Mets sign an outfield one of Nieuwenhuis or Conforto is probably going down/away.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 It's been tough to figure out the A's this year -- we've discussed before about how their RS/RA and W/L records have been wildly divergent* all season -- but the Kazmir trade probably signals that they're ready to deal.[fimg=100]http://mcgady.net/Casab/main/Greenstreet6.jpg[/fimg] 'He's a difficult customer that [crossout]Rick[/crossout] Billy Beane, one never knows what he'll do or why'* The gap is not as bad as it had been (the A's have actually won a few close games lately) but Pythag says their record still should be a full 10 games better than it is.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Oh, Beane will deal. He just won't pull the trigger unless he's getting exactly what he wants.Even excepting my Metly interest, I'd be interested in any Mets-A's deal going down these days, just to see which GM blinks first in any trade negotiation.
