G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Surprised MLB doesn't market today as Superfluous Exhibition Saturday, brought to you by whatever sponsor helps you get rid of whatever you don't need (also brought to you by an insurance company, helping you in case somebody you didn't see getting hurt gets hurt).
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Superfluous Exhibition Saturday, brought to you by BBQ Grill Mat!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Wilmer coughs up a run with a throw in the dirt. They score it as an infield hit and an RBI, but that's not right.

Why bother schlepping them to a different time zone for the weekend if they're not going to make the games available (I don't consider the midnight delayed broadcast on the MLB Network to count)?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 John Mayberry falling asleep on the base paths. Ouch.Let's not give back the mental errors Texas made yesterday, Mets.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 TMF is right. This is typical Mets--a chance for self-promotion and good-will but they are too damn cheap to send a crew to an out-of-town stadium. The players should have been sent home to "see" their wives and girlfriends and pack instead of schlepping to Texas. Oh wait: the Wilpons likely got a piece of the gate from the Rangers so it makes it all worthwhile.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Ugh Muno. That's two! The one earlier off his glove @ 2nd was an error in my book as well, somehow scored a single. Both, grounders right to him.Come on Danny, focus.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Gah! We are playing like the Rangers were yesterday. The wonder of baseball.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Except now we've got two outs in the ninth and bases loaded, bringing Anthony Recker up as the tying run, facing a lefty.BUT... the Rangers go to the pen. They don't want to mess with Anthony.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 hahah, Recker ties it with a granny!!!!

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 And we chalk it up as a tie. Thanks for coming out, fans. We don't really care who wins. Not sure why you do. Please drive safely.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Ends in a tie. Yay for the 4 runs in the 9th! BOOOOO for the tie.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Not for nothing but pulling a tie out of our butts with 0 on, 2 out, down 4, in the 9th, on the road, in the last game of spring training, is a pretty good sign we're not taking shit from nobody in 2015. The force is strong with this group.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 That wasn't even such a bad pitch to Recker. The catcher set up away and it was over the outside corner. The first pitch had been a slider away, and Recker must've been looking there because he reached out and pulled it.Buchele and Maddux, running the show while Manager Bannister was home sick, really looked like they felt they were out of their depths in that ninth inning..
