A skinny journeyman lefty gets a shot after years of toil and soil and wrapping his lunch in foil. I'm Scott Rice and that was me in 2013. And I took that chance and became an everyday lefty.

Well that took it's toll, and I ended up hurted. Spent the year rehabbing and now I'm back. Back on a minor league deal, anyhow. And so the journey begins anew. Where will it take me in 2015?

He'll have a year of ups and downs, but since we need lefties he'll have a job.

I just don't see it happening for the Riceman in 2015. For all the talk of the great opportunity in front of him, if he doesn't have it, he doesn't have it. Released. Sorry.

I look at his form and I don't see how he ever fooled anybody.

I think he'll probably get another go, but only as a passing ship in the stormy night of leftlessness.

Four innings, eight ERA.

I have a cousin-in-law who looks exactly-- EXACTLY-- like him, only the in-law is taller, and good at what he does professionally.

18 G, 14 1/3 IP, 5.02 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, 8 K, 5 BB, one looooong face

Rice is listed at 6' 6" -- how freakin' tall is your in-law?!?

Thought Rice was in the 6'3" range. So, revised: they're the exact same height.
