Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 COMING THIS THANKSGIVING.Rocky Balboa trains Apollo Creed's son, because... new ideas are really hard.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Be a thinker, not a stinker.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 Definitely a better tagline than "The Best Human Values Never Change."Strange how, despite scoffing at him for Rocky IV and Rocky V, I now find part of me rooting for him in his audaciousness, a limited talent milking his single good idea for all it's worth and then some.Stallone neither writes nor directs, but is one of seven producers and presumably gets a cut of the writer's share for creating some of the characters. But isn't that what a successful old man gets to do? Turn the empire he built over to younger men while still getting a big partner's cut?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I'm still waiting for the sequel where Rocky fights Rambo. And, let's face it, it's going to happen at some point.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 I actually posted a Rocky/Rambo treatment on the forum way back when.
dgwphotography Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 This may be a case of going to the well too often, but Rocky Balboa was surprisingly good.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Apollo died in 1985, so his son has to be at least 30, meaning he's already pretty old for a boxer, no?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 Yeah, but (1) old for a boxer is relative in the Rocky universe, (2) maybe it's set a few years back, and (3) maybe Rocky IV was set a few years in the future(!!) they're probably hope you're not counting.Spinoff instead of sequel? Brilliant move? Possibly!
