The Mets very first Dana and very first Eveland signs a minor league deal with Boston.

Nice little run out of a minor league contract.

He was a decent spare part.

Along with Buddy, he was better than we had any right to hope for, but he was something of a left-handed Sisk, walking a ton, but keeping the ball on the ground.

So, so twitchy with that glove when setting for his motion. Like a visual espresso, jangling the nerves.

Became a big fan of Dana & Buddy. Hard to think of one without the other.

Both signed during Spring Training � Eveland on February 17 and Carlyle on February 18.

Carlyle debuted May 31, and Eveland on June 2. They both got released on the same day also, natch.

For a while there, they made two halves of a pretty effective whole.
