Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 They're a week back and all, but man alive, this team has been terrible today with the glove.Matsuzaka was flabby with the control and hittable-- although he was NOT helped by the D-- and could have gotten hammered even more. Lannan was "meh." Montero continues to look good. Matz up-and-down, but three Ks in a row to get out of some trouble in the 7th were nice, and the fastball and curve were popping.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 3 more E's today: Murphy, Tejada, BrownThat's several games I've noticed so far with multiple errorsDiceK = 2 runs over 2 on 6 hits, 1 BB, 3 KLannan = 2 runs over 2 on 3 hitsMontero = 1 run over 2 on 1 hitMatz = 1 inning, 1 hits, 1 BB, 3 KsHRs: Recker & Brown5-3 Cards in the 7th
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Just tuning in. How about a comeback for me guys. 9th inning, still 5-3.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 That Cards pitcher Maness knows where the hitters weak spots are.2 outs on Ks.You get that one inside pitch in on Newy and he's done.METS TIE IT!!!5-5
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Whoah! Mets reading the Pool, fulfill Zvon's wish.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 A lead-off single by Dreamy and 3 singles in a row by Brown, Flores and Campbell tie it up.I forgot this is spring. They can just call it here. They don't.Extra innings!

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Kool, you can replay these right away after the game now. Or maybe that's just cause it's a spring game. Dunno, but I'll catch ya after the game.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Nice play by Granderson in the 1st, calling off Muffy on the shallow fly. That's the kinda thing I like to see in S.T.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 The game featured a replay review.Cardinal runner out on a caught stealing. Play looked close all along (he even looked safe at least as much as out) but the replay affirmed the call in what seemed like maybe 90 seconds or so.

Weren't you taking grounders and stuff while you weren't playing in games?Uhg, and the ball hits the ump! And its a good break! But this inning should be over. Booooooo.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Matsuzaka didn't suck tho they hit him kinda hard. K'd three and would have looked better had Murphy not erred.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Tejada, if you can't field a grounder right to you we are in trouble.Hmm, Collins didn't challenge on EYjr out at 2nd. He was safe.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Muffy with a take out slide in spring training. And he's limping.ugh.Looks like he's okay.
