Cerone in a rare show of actually having a point of view appears to have adopted the "cynical moron" gambit of on the one hand proclaiming his lack of belief in anything Mets say -- except anything that might be interpreted as a signal of action. Then and only then, it's gospel.

Also, what he wants is Action. Not words.

He's probably better as an opinionless link aggregator, and I don't mean that as a criticism of his aggregating ability.

Edit -- I should add the prevailing reaction to Ackert's corrected tweet wasn't to chide her for getting it wrong initially or thank her for getting it right eventually, but to suggest she had it right all along: Jeff was intentionally goosing fans.
