Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 One ancillary development in the dealing of Byrd is that it frees up a spot in the outfield to give Lucas Duda one last chance to save his flagging Met career. Of course, Brown and den Dekker will likely see some time as well, but if Duda is indeed among the top three outfielders on the team, does he go back to right? As harsh as he's been out there, I don't see his arm as particuarly worse than Eric Young's. I guess that he'll be in right and Young in left with the notion that they're both playing for a job in left next year. dD and/or Brown will get out there any time better defense is needed.I guess there's still a chance that Young could get some time at second, but that notion in my head is kinda dying a little every day.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Howie last night was all "no way we're gonna see that guy in the outfield, ever" regarding Doodoo.I think Browntown deserves right field now, and maybe a Double Dekker/Lagares platoon in center sounds good. Maybe Doody can battle for some starts with Young, but otherwise, he's the DH in Cleveland next week.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Brown's your No. 3 hitter in right tonight. Terry resists urge to find at-bats for Recker and den Dekker.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 Wow, it's interesting to see if Howie's speaking for his eyes or his ears.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Oh, I'm going to tonight's game by the way. I WANNA SEE DEN DEKKER DAMMIT
Guest sharpie Guests Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Maybe as a pinch hitter but its Young-Murphy-Brown-Davis-Flores-Legares-d'Arnaud-Quintanilla-Niese."Young Murphy Brown" sounds like the prequel featuring Candace Bergen as her former character's mother.
