Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Jackie Robinson statue at Brooklyn ballpark vandalized with swastikas and racial slurs
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Too bad we can't come up for a cure for assholes.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2013 Author Posted August 7, 2013 I have to say, I kind of like that (at least, so far), neither the content (beyond the swastika) nor photos have been released.

That deadspin guy gets a pass today.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2013 Author Posted August 7, 2013 It is not censoring to choose not to release what has been written on your statue, your eyes notwithstanding.OE: But, yeah, it looks like Deadspin has the actual words.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I took pictures at that statue this summer, shame that it got vandalized.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Luther told me the Warriors did it.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Doesn't this thread have the same name as the new album by Ted Nugent?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2013 Author Posted August 7, 2013 The interesting thing is that phrase that was written was probably pretty characteristic of the abuse that was being rained down on Robinson when the scene supposedly took place. In a sense, the foul slurs are appropriate, in an offensive art installation sense.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Kong76--let's just say he's waaaaaaaaaaay on the right.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Does that alone make him a racist or is there something specific that he's said along those lines?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Google the bastard. It's Harvey night. Enjoy.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Not googling to support anyone's point. Either he's saidanti-semetic or other racial slurs or he hasn't.I know he turned out to be an ass at times, enjoyed hismusic when I was young.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I remember reading a profile-- Detroit Free-Press? St. Louis Dispatch?-- a while back referencing his rampant use of "nigger" and other racial slurs. He remains really... um... un-averse to racial caricature.
