He's been dreadful lately.Yup.Tejada is now available to be called-up but neither he nor Q, whichever isn't starting on that day, gives you much coming off the bench.Valde's status probably depends on the recovery of Turner or maybe a small trade for some bat that can play you some SS in a pinch.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 78 pitches for Hef. Pen could always use a rest at this point in the season. Maybe Terry feels that they have been sharp in the pen and he wants to keep em sharp. I dunno. I do think Hefner could have gone 9 w/no problem. Well, aside from possibly losing it.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Let's get all up in this guy's grilli.

Urk.Yeah, but we've already got Malancon out of there and Grilli probably isn't used for more than an inning himself. IOW, even if we're held scoreless in this frame we just need to survive the bottom of the 9th and then we're into their weaker half while we'll have only tapped into Aardsma.Besides, Grilli is due for a beating.

But I'm okay with a platoon there as we wait to see if Ike can rediscover Ike.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Fuck! And I don't think that was misplayed in any way. Thats a big leadoff double.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 This one is getting away..quick...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Looks like Rice to pitch to Alvarez then probably someone else to go after Russell Martin. The alternative would be IW-ing Alvarez too then trying to get Martin to GiDP

And since Martin has been shit at the plate this season, and he's playing the Mets, what are the odds that he drives in the winning run?

And since Martin has been shit at the plate this season, and he's playing the Mets, what are the odds that he drives in the winning run?Zero, as it turns out. Jones vs. RHP and Sanchez vs. LHP are about a wash, Sanchez slightly higher BA but much higher slugging (which doesn't really matter, as a single or a homer produce the same result).
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Sanchez is batting .230. Bring it to him Edgin.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 WHEWI'm not used to getting out of predicaments like that.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Q, Lagares, and the top to face someone other than Grilli I'm assuming.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I'm not proud. I'll lift one from the web.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 And, once again, a potential short game has been sabotaged by extra innings. All Met games must be three hours or longer this year. I think it's a new rule.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Gary and Keith don their Collins 2014 campaign buttons.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Lagares with a 1-out single, EY up from the right side.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Nice hitting by Laggy. Way to go with the pitch.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Hey Murph, if you're gonna hit em in the air, hit em over the outfield fence.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 David is really going to make some enemies in western PA after he drives this run in.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 A line single is also acceptable. The Capn FTW. This booin Dave over that HR derby bidness is silly. Esp since that Pirate is now going. It gives me the impression that the Pirates have stupid sheep like fans.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Nice to know that the runner on second has the speed to score on just about anything.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 DAMN! HE ripped it too. I have to step off. Don't let anyone win or lose til I get back!
