Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 They are forcing me to grow to like the orange brim hats much too fast. I resent this.

I don't love these hats yet. So I resent you saying that If the Mets are above .500 at the end of April I will embrace these caps. If not, I may have buy one and Pedro Borbon it.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Nice throw Recker! Great throw! Did not think he had a chance to get him.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 That run is on Tejada..horrid throw
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Ashie62 wrote:That run is on Tejada..horrid throwYea, an accurate throw could have had him, bang bang. Only one run, could have and should have been worse. Recker cutting down that guy at 2nd was big.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 sheepshit. Hope we get 5 out of Laffey.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I cannot understand Kiner today..at all...

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 At least the rookie isn't going to throw a perfecto against us.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Yep, that was a strike Capt. He says something as he walks away. Another way to do it Ike.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I know Laffey is just keeping the rotation spot warm for Wheeler, but he's not been impressive. Of course, our offense isn't helping him much.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 We have Laffey & Recker today..it could have beenWheeler & D'Arnaud...Screw service time..
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Great job by Burke!Ashie62 wrote:Screw service time..I've come to accept this as a matter of course. Can't say that I agree, but I understand.

Can't say that I agree, but I understand. You're right and I understand it is the course but it is truly aggravating...Any Fernandez is playing the role of one of those Rookie starters that the Mets struggle with.TORCH HIM NOW!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Ashie62 wrote:Any Fernandez is playing the role of one of those Rookie starters that the Mets struggle with.TORCH HIM NOW!Exactly. Some no name arm comes in and we look like we don't have a clue. We got to get him outta the box.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Ya know, the booth even brought up how Davey Johnson was told Doc Gooden needed another minor league season and Davey said: "[u:2f3bjp4z]I want him now[/u:2f3bjp4z]". These days I don't think Gooden gets the call up in that same exact situation that Johnson was in. It is aggravating from a fans standpoint. We score. Yay. I like our catchers so far. I will be surprised if that lasts long.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 And I've been a lil rough on Buck. I don't know how involved he is but his pitch calling has to get a nod from me. Even tho he is really hot, I'm okay with him sittin out. Its not like hes gonna bat over .400 all season or lead the league in RBIs. And Recker don't suck. With Trav on the way, I like our catching situation.OO, good, Fernandez is done.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 If Burke can get through this half-inning (6th) and Stanton without damage, and with the kid pitcher outta there for Miami, I'll start feeling OK about the chances for a comeback in this game.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 GJ Burke. You will not go thirsty!Yes, the team themselves should be all fired up that Fernandez is out and jump all over whoever they put on that mound. Show some spirit!
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Didn't it take Murph until, like, June to get two homers last season?
