Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I never managed to get to the theater to see it, but I got a prerelease copy of it (comes out 4/2) and just watched it.Quite enjoyable. Mostly following Wakefield and Dickey, but with plenty of Hough and Niekro as well. Filmed during 2011 so it really ends up being a preview for Dickey's Cy Young. Lots of video of slow motion knucklers which is terrific, and lots of just four knuckleballers nerding out over the pitch sitting around a living room. Good stuff. (Did you know Phil Niekro homered off of Hough?)I could've done without that one pitch, the last one, of the 2003 ALCS though. But shortly after that there's the Mookie/Buckner clip and Dickey does troll some young Yankee fan ballplayers at one point.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 R.A. Dickey deserves his own thread.

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Saw this on Showtime last night. I thought it was very good...went through Dickey's great story without the preachiness and creepiness of his book.Lots of Mets stuff (and lots of black shadow). Good fun, even though Dick is now a Blue Jay.
