Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Denzel Washington is a really good pilot. He also has some really big problems.Co-stars include Don Cheadle in an understated role as the pilot union's lawyer, and John Goodman in an over-the-top role as Denzel's wild, running-buddy.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 John Goodman? Over-the-top? No WAY!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 As in, over-the-top by John Goodman standards.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 OMG - this was torture!Yes, Denzel Washington was great. Denzel Washington is always great. But man, who nominated this piece of junk for Best Screenplay? You first have to buy into the concept that, even impaired, Denzel was the ONLY pilot who could have landed this plane without killing everyone on board. But even beyond that, the behavior of the characters requires way too much suspension of disbelief. And at two hours and twenty minutes, the torture is a slow one.The plane crash re-enactment was well done, but everything beyond that is skippable.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 This was more like a Denzel Washington "vehicle."
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Poo-poo ka-ka.Robert Zemeckis may want to reconsider Back to the Future IV. Go for it. I mean... it would be a better idea than Flight II.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I just want to apologize for all youse who posted in this thread. Frayed Knot, themetfairy, Ashie... even Willets who posted though you may not have seen the film... I'm sorry. You told me this plane was going down and going down hard and I climbed on board anyhow.
