Mets Owner Dresses the Part

From an L.A. Times profile of minority-share owner Bill Maher:

Dressed casually in a bright blue New York Mets baseball cap and jeans, Maher gathered his seven-member writing staff in a jumbled corner of Television City studios in Los Angeles.

Makes me wonder if Fred, Jeff or Saul ever wear a Mets cap behind the scenes. My guess is no.

New York's best sports owner continues to be true to the orange and blue (and black) when out and about.

The Giants are blanking the Tigers and Bill Maher is Mets all the way. Now that's some Real time. I mean, the man travels with his Mets cap!

It is about (real) time someone got Maher a cap that didn't have any black on it, though.

He had some quip about investing in the Mets a few weeks ago on his show. They were discussing where the next financial bubble would occur and a former chairperson of the FDIC said the bond bubble. The conservative guest joked, "Keep your capital gains where you've got them."

Maher said, "I put mine in the Mets. That's not going anywhere. The Mets will be here when everything else is dust."
