Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Orioles Jim Thome & Manny Machado recently became just the 4th pair of [u:3tx3qwtm]teammates to HR in the same game[/u:3tx3qwtm] where one was [u:3tx3qwtm]age 20 or younger and the other was at least age 40[/u:3tx3qwtm]Name the other three pairs - I'll supply the years they happened just to make this slightly less impossible1958 - 1971 - 1990 - and also add that the younger of the pair in one case is in the HoF as is the older one from a different pairing.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 My first thought when it came to old sluggers was "Giants," given Horace Stoneham's love for his aging window-breakers. Knew '58 was Cepeda's first year and Mays had his last good season in '71 -- and remembered Speier was hot stuff. Then it was a matter of confirming dates and birthdays.Good question.
