And now you know why Terry said he doesn't consider Valdespin a SS.
This is what Mel Mora did all those years ago to get hisself booted out.

Can you imagine how deeply he'd be thrown into Jerry's doghouse?

Doghouse? How about the morning train to Buffalo!

Meanwhile Tejada left his rehab game today with a re-occurence of the quad problem.

Big, big fucking balls on Bobby.

What grapefruits by Parnell. Get the man a fucking run and a win here, offense. You owe him.

Heroic inning from Parnell when you think about it. I don't think anyone got the ball out of the infield.

Now the problem is his fielders made him throw like 58 pitches that inning.

HE'S NO KENNY FUCKING ROGERS! Parnell comes back from a 3-0 count to Strike out Ankiel!

I guess.

But isn't throw-day bullpen-saving partly why we employ a knuckleballer?

Next pitcher out of the pen? Elvin?

How bout Dickey!

Howie says Elvin Ramirez the only pitcher available is warming now.

The Nats are essentially down to Detwiler in their pen, but he was a starter until about a week or two ago so can probably give them five or six innings easily.
And they've got two PHers (all be it both rookie backup catchers)

Plus that whole inning turned the Nats order over so they get the top of the order up again.

You have to think someone is leaving tonight for Beato/Schwinden/whoever to come help out tomorrow.

Besides the Dickey option, the Mets could ask Hefner to give them something and eliminate his start (Mets are in 6 man rotation right now)

Here's where Valdespin hits a liner off the centerfielder's head that bounces 50 feet over to Harper for the third out.

Or, you know, that.

Granted it was a tough inning, but Terry has shown he's certainly not anxious to go more than one inning at a time with Parnell.

That was a LONG fucking inning.

Didn't Ramirez walk, like, nobody in AAA?

Well he just struck out the only guy in this lineup who may have actually faced him before.
