Terry, asked if he had ever seen anything like this, recalled what I think he said was his first year of managing (for Vero Beach, I guess).

    "I had Sid Fernandez and he pitched two no-hitters. The second one, the GM had him on a pitch limit of 130. Going into the ninth, he had 18 strikeouts. He was up to 119 pitches. And I said 'That's it --- 130 pitches and I'm taking you out.' He goes out and strikes out the side on 10 pitches. Finishes with 21 strikeouts."



How the hell did we ever get that guy? Tore through the minor leagues like the love child of Doc Gooden and Fernando Valenzuela, and we get him for Bob Bailor and Carlos Diaz? Really? Could Ronny Cede�o and Ram�n Ram�rez net that guy today?
