wow, another CF assignment for Baxter. Did he even have a significant number of starts in CF in the minors?
and i thought May was a catcher. Is he a UT like Rottino, or is Terry just seeing if he could be one?

made a nice play (May) at 3B yesterday I think, so it's interesting for sure.

Baxter didn't get a lot of CF playing time in the minors, but supposedly he said that's because he was 'blocked' by some other CF prospects (Will Venable, etc) in the San Diego system. i.e. he played right because that's where there was room, not because he couldn't play center.

May's a catcher by virtue of being a hitter who couldn't hack it at shortstop. If he makes the team it's as an RH bat/utility guy and 3rd catcher I would guess.

They've played May for 2-3 games at third, too. He's looked... um... what's the nice way to put this? A little inconsistent, he's looked.

We have an old-time lumber battle going on. Mets have scored in each of the first two innings, with the Braves getting two in their half of the first, after leading off with back-to back triples --- which I suspect is the sort of thing that can happen if the Mets use that outfield alignment.

2-2.

And, as the Scots say, 'e groonds oot.

Mets have five walks on the day and we're half-way. Take that, Mike Minor. Michael the Baptist coming on for the Mets.
