A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Some pretty crisp spring bball being played. Niese 4 scoreless (now into the 5th) and, hey, only 1 error today, and he committed it.Just 1 lonely hit for the green Mets, courtesy of Daniel Murphy. Appropriate.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 Amazingly, Niese is now through 5 and has just thrown 25 effing pitches. Even more amazing, 24 strikes, 1 ball! The Braves swung at the first pitch each of the first 10 (!) hitters and 18 times in 5 innings! The Braves players must have tickets to a Toby Keith concert right after the game or something.(Edit: think all that shit is right, I'm just going thru the box score...)
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 Niese faces 3 in the 6th and they all go first pitch, too, but it's 1) single, 2) force out, 3) single and Niese is done, 5+ innings, 28 pitches, 27 strikes. Funny. Rauch on. Bases apparently have shamrocks on them>>

Niese finished with I think 74 pitches and 49 strikes.Rauch came in and got two grounders, Turner to the plate for the first out, simple 4-3 for the second. Thanks Dan.Dan drove in 2 in thebottom of the inning and we're up 2-0.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 Really? GameDay must be effed b/c I saw lots of first pitch swings & misses. Anyway, sorry for the BS reporting on Niese's alleged magnificence.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 3-2 Braves is your final thanks to 3 in the 8th off of Chuck James [0.2 IP, 2 runs, 2 hits] and Ramon Ramirez [0.1 IP, 1 run, 2 hits]Mets totaled 6 hits, all singles: Murphy (x2), Satin, Cedeno, Valdespin, BaxterSandwiching that eighth inning debacle were scoreless relief innings thrown by Frankie Frankie (6th - no hits), and Little Danny (9th - 1 hit)

Funny. Looking back, that line is a little too Henry Rowengartner / Steve Nebraska to be anywhere in the neighborhood of real. Me = idiot.
