bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Also, someone named Sean Kazmar was signed for the minors.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sean_Kazmarhttp://www.baseball-reference.com/players/k/kazmase01.shtml
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 Also add Sean Kazmar, who is not an off-brand knock-off of Scott Kazmir, but a journeyman shortstop going directly to minor league camp.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 virtually posted at the same time....would have been karmic if it were actually Kazmir.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 Yeah, man. Virtually the same time!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Miguel Batista re-ups on a minor league deal.Fernando Cabrera, x-Red Sox, O's reliever, inks minor league deal. Cabrera was once fined for cavalierly turning over the ball to O's manager at the mound. Has has pretty good K figures but issues too many longballs.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Between Batista (if he makes the team) and Dickey, the Mets might lead the league in something... published authors.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I don't see how Batista can't make the team at some point. We were incredibly lucky (and cursed) to have so little need for backup starters last season; I can;t imagine it happens again and I have no idea who will be backing up.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 Well, Batista can fail to make the team by breaking down or failing utterly faster than the guys he's backing up. He is, after all, 73 years old.
