Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 Fucking pathetic.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Storen just destroyed him there.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 That's at least the 3d time this year that Storen struck out a Met to end a game with his slider. How come I know it's coming but the batters look surprised?

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Just got home. Only was able to catch the bottom of the ninth in the car radio. The guys in the booth also commented that the Mets hadn't gotten a hit off the bullpen until the ninth. Hagin belaboring the obvious "All the hits were off the starter".From the box score, it looks like the losing run was put on by Thayer, but it was driven in off Parnell. Is that so? If they're grooming him to be an eighth inning guy or closer of the future, shouldn't he starting an inning?Later

It was hard hit, but he wasn't exactly clobbered. Got the next guy, scoreless 8th. gave up a single in the 9th but got two outs. His velocity was all over the place. 95-96 a lot. seemed to throw some changeups, which is out of character, but he pitched well. I'm starting to worry that he might be a little burnt out, although most of the Mets look that way.
