Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 One of the causes of our mediocrity (or worse) this season has been our less-than-stellar record against the bottom-feeders of the league.Even yesterday's double-win only brings their cumulative record versus the clubs below us in the NL standings* to 28-31.But now sixteen of the next eighteen come against the Marlins (6 more), Nationals (7) and Cubs (3) interrupted only by the two-game make-up with the Braves.* Cubs 1-2Astros 3-3Padres 4-3Marlins 5-7Rox 2-5Nats 6-5Pirates 4-4Dodgers 5-2
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 We need to lock in third place.Remember when they played Colorado earlier in the year and couldn't get Tulowitski out? They seemed like a really good team back then.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 This recent winning streak, and the upcoming schedule, may mean that a .500 season is once again within reach. Back when the Mets were in Philadelphia, they needed to go 21-14 to get to .500. (That's a .600 pace.) But now they only need to go 17-13, which is just a .567.
