Back home after a 6-4 road trip that was somewhat disappointing when you consider the competition and looking to get August off to a good start.

Let's steam the Marlins on a muggy night in Flushing.

We've been in the top of the third for about 15 minutes, thanks to the usual Pelfy laboring*/a string of two-out hits.

*OE: 28 pitches. Bully.

Granted you generally send Reyes always, but I was surprised they sent him with 1 out and Stanton and not a hard hit and all that.

Objectively decent outing by Pelf, and my stomach's still uneasy after it all.

some errors made it worse, but i'll take QS every time..the offense is supposed to be awesome, not 'bleh, here's a home run or two' average. We're not the Phillies.

Lost a run there.

Between Sunday's GiDPs (2), caught stealings (2 more), Murphy's base-running gaffes and other assorted hi-jinks, and now Jose being nailed at the plate, we've been getting a lot of our base-runners erased lately.

Seemingly unnecessary double by Pagan buys the Mets one more out as Bay's limp grounder doesn't go for a game-ending DP.

Duda remembers that he's Beltran's replacement!

And a HR by Hairston is pretty much a foregone conclusion, no?

They'll hold him to first by thumping him!

At least this game we've got the home-field advantage after tying it up ... that supposed to count for something.
Tied it up in the 9th yesterday and then never even got to extras.

How about Acosta? Two perfect with four whiffs.
