I dunno. They always do something and it's hard to see them praying that Colon & Garcia aren't just simply going to turn back into (aging and fat) pumpkins some time in the next three months. It's also not like Hughes has looked great and, while Nova won last night, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's a bit easier to pitch when staked to a 12 run lead before you even take the mound.


Kuroda in LA has announced that he Will Not waive his N-T clause so apparently he's going nowhere.
The Sawx pulled out of the Harden deal (not quite sure why they were in it).
Orioles also deal Derrick Lee to the Pirates for some class A 1Bman

In what's become a charming annual tradition, Orlando Cabrera moved to a contender, going to the Giants to start at short for the moment/provide depth for the depleted SF infield in exchange for AAA outfielder Thomas Neal.

Whenever this happens I usually need to stop and take a moment to remember which team he was on in the first place.
And besides, I thought contenders moved to Orlando Cabrera not the other way around. I think Gary Cohen told me that a few dozen times.

Certainly some risk/reward to the whole thing. After starting 2010 at 15-1 by the ASG, he's a very pedestrian 10-16; 4.18 since.
Also, reportedly the Rox were reluctant to let teams give him a physical prior to a deal.

The major difference being that the Mets then had to go sign Johan at FA prices while the seriously, I just used a racist word when I really meant "Guardians" have Ubaldo for the next several seasons at very reasonable levels - assuming of course that he's even close to being decent.

I was going to say, how many closers do the Rangers need?
Between their own Feliz and now Uehara from the Orioles the addition of Bell would make for a crowded pen come late innings.
