Winning today would ensure taking another series on the road. Since when is Phil Coke a starter?

Since this year. Not very good.

Well I took care of business on Tuesday, willing the team to victory. Now I'm passing the torch to Gwreck for the rest of the series!

Leyland's next nightmare:

Jose Reyes SS
Justin Turner 3B
Carlos Beltran RF
Ronny Paulino C
Jason Bay LF
Angel Pagan CF
Scott Hairston DH
Daniel Murphy 1B
Ruben Tejada 2B

Chris Capuano - LHP

He's been pitching lately like that bottle of Coke you find in the back of the fridge that's been there for about a month with the cap not screwed on tight --flat.

That HAS to be a Texas State Fair creation, I reckon.

About his 13th straight time on base, says my slightly distorted worldview.

Singlhanded run by Reyes, and our new cleanup hitter gets a hit just to say "I totally could have driven him in on my own."

Yeah, if he's chasing the high pitch these days, he gets a foul ball instead of the swing-and-miss or popout he used to get.

Unrelated to the IGT but TFB... Ceetar: thanks for suggesting who to vote for at AL SS.

Most definitely New Coke.

When reached for comment, Tom Murphy remarked that he thinks Murph's beard makes Murph look "a little like an Amish idiot without a degree."

Reyes makes his first two outs since Sunday with one swing.

OK, babies, the Tiggs have two hits and they've gone about 900 feet between them. Five-two.

Stay on task, Mets.
