Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Ok, can someone explain the steal of home for the gameday watchers here?
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Pagan would still be standing on third.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 (edited) Reyes steals. Pridie breaks home on the throw. Bill Hall, instead of cutting off the throw and coming home, stays at the bag and swipes at Reyes idly. DEE-fense! (Clap, clap)Reyes doesn't get a Run Runned In, unfortunately. As Keith and Gary note... still no Astro bullpen action. Edited May 15, 2011 by Guest

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2011 Author Posted May 15, 2011 It was about time we gave that pitcher an Aneuryism.Getting no-hit (even for half-games) by guys with 5.50 ERAs suxx

If we can't learn here that bunting is for losers, when are we ever going to learn?Terry's idea there was to bunt them over and then take two shots at the runners with Pridie and then a PH for Capuano. Still don't agree with it but at least he has a plan whereas Jerry would bunt simply because he saw a runner on 1st.Gotta like the fact that Turner 'screwed up' the strategy, first by not getting the bunt down and then by doubling into the LF corner.Getting the hits then kept Capuano in the game - remains to be seen whether that's a good thing or not.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Capuano through 5 amidst a loud out or two, and he's apparently done.Rodriguez still in. Given that bullpen, Mills must figure he's just as well having this guy get hammered as he is bringing in Abad or Lopez for the same.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2011 Author Posted May 15, 2011 Errant pick-off throw and Bay moves to 2nd.The closer Carlos Lee is to the action the better things are ... for the other team.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2011 Author Posted May 15, 2011 (edited) And NOT bunting Turner works again!!!! Edited May 15, 2011 by Guest
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Can you be Wally Pipped if you lose your job because of someone else's injury? (Murphy moving to 1B because of Ike's injury.)
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Gotta be something else. Getting Todd Zeiled? Biggioed? The noise from the home run must have woken Brad Mills. The time to go lefty-righty with the in-inning pitching changes is probably before said HR, though.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 According to Collins Oberkfell argued very hard for Turner to be the starting 2nd baseman from the get go......
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 About a week before the start of the season, IIRC, Terry said he was leaning toward Turner.

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Also, if Murphy continues to walk on ball-three, it'll be hard for him to lose his job.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 So the Mets may actually head into mid-season with a decent bench?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 The Mets were really fortunate that with Buchholz scratching and the 'Stros rallying, it came down to J.R. Towles.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Will tonight's BOS-MFY be faster than this game?
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Yeah, because the MFYs will only be sending 8 men to the plate, so no one has to bat 9th.

Freddy Garcia? sounds like dinner for the Red Sox.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 What do they say? just keep winning series. 3-1 gets them to .500 for the weekend series against the Yankees. (and 1-4 gets the Yankees to 500)
