Of course sticking around doesn't guarantee Gee a spot in the rotation.
With Pelfrey, Niese, Dickey, Young (activated as Carrasco is demoted), & Capuano (plus a day off tomorrow) there doesn't seem to be a seat at the dinner table for young Dillon.

One one hand, I think I'd rather send Gee back to Buffalo and give him steady innings than jerk him (or one of the other 5) back and forth between starting and relieving. On the other hand, Carrasco's an easy guy to demote because of his contract, and he might benefit from working through some issues in AAA.

Alderson mentioned something about eight to ten days in the pen for Gee, didn't hear what was after that.

I dont' particularly mind the jerk between the rotation and the pen. I imagine Gee doesn't either.

Not if it comes with decent hotels and flights instead of motels and buses.

From our perspective... it'll be nice to have some control in the pen, no?

yeah, I think one of the benefits of not signing any "name brand" relievers was that it helps with flexbility and it seems like they're going with a "fill the spots with guys that can pitch" philosophy.

I'll be interested to see how Collins uses it with Gee.

The flip side is-- or can be that, at least-- getting "sent down" doesn't seem to have nearly the sting as it typically can, and that Bisonhood feels more like being part of the big club, presumably.
