A recommendation for MLB 11: The Show

Why am I recommending it?

The first time I played it, I chose Oliver Perez as my starting pitcher. This was the result:
1.2 IP, 6 H, 5 BB, 7 R, 5 ER, 2 HR, 2 SO, 27.00 ERA
E: Castillo (1), bobble.

It is amazing how realistic games are these days.

It sucks that sony owns this baseball title. it's easily the better game (back a couple years ago, when my roomate had a ps3, I played this way too much).
I've tried getting mlb2k11, but it's so inferior that i just can't invest any time into it.
I would hate to get a ps3 JUST for this one title though...lol.

If it's any consolation, the load times seem to be murder. And we probably don't need to spend hours a day developing a 22-year-old digital us' strike-zone-recognition skills.

Yeah, sucks for 360 owners especially since two series are in (permanent?) hiatus, Triple Play/MVP and High Heat. I guess baseball games don't sell that well anymore.

@Ceetar -- do rosters update for opening day, trades during the season in The Show?

Btw, I think it's kinda cool Dickey has two knuckleball variants.....

and just to dig this thread up for clarification purposes, the reason why triple play/mvp were stopped was because the 2k series bought the monopoly on baseball video games (just like madden has the monopoly on nfl... they were the first, and rival gaming companies quickly attacked mlb and nba). the reason mlb the show is available is because it's strickly released by the console, hence only available on sony. if microsoft released an xbox360 baseball game, they would be allowed to do so.


oh, and yeah, i ended up spending the money on a ps3 just for this one game. and this game was my only title that I owned on a ps3 until a couple weeks ago....

The last gaming console I owned was a Super Nintendo.

I do miss Madden for PC. I find Baseball Mogul cures any baseball gaming ills that I have...of which I don't have many.
