Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Gotta love the fact that Blyleven, and presumably Carter, remember and still kibitz about an otherwise obscure 1-out/1st inning double from 31 years ago in a game the Pirates won anyway (although Blyleven didn't get the 'W').
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 The displays in the Cooperstown museum change every season. My last trip was 2010 and John Franco was well represented with a cap and display in the relief pitcher section.Pete Rose may not be a member but his memorabilia was forefront and well represented. It does mean Rose and Franco have to pay $10 to get in.I always liked the idea that an HOF member can get in free with a secret handshake or something. Could you imagine Ralph Kiner if he had to pay lol.?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 I htink it's kind of, I don't know, hurtful (I guess), to have Joe Jackson banned in perpetuiity from baseball --- and by extension from the Hall of Fame --- but to exploit his legacy in their displays, including displaying letters written by him pleading for his case to be reviewed.
