Get off the Interstate, Septemeber Edition

Yesterday was a great day for rookie callups trying top post some semi-respectable numbers before the end of the season.

Exiting:

Nick Evans gets his first Metly hit of the season in going 1-3, raising his average to .200 (1-5). Stay gold, Ponyboy.

Progressing:

Ruben Tejada's 2-4 yesterday raised his average from .185 to .193. After bottoming out at .164 (he hit .111 in 45 August at-bats), he has now actually hit in three straight and now needs two consecutive hits to put the interstate behind him.

Mike Hessman's 1-4 (double) raised his average from .135 to .146. Hits in his next three at-bats will get him into .200 country.

Regressing:

Lucas Duda started the game at .067, went 0-2, before being lifted, and finished at .059. Upside is that he got a walk and raised his OPS from .309 to .318. Um, yeah, upside.

Stalling:

Mike Nickeas, hitting 0-2 after his one start, did not get into the game. Boooo! He remains at .000.

Justin Turner awaits a callup to put a dent in his .125 batting average.

Fernando Martinez will be back, won't he? If so, he's got a .167 average he'd like to talk about.

Wrecked:

Barring something unlikely, Frank Catalanotto will forever be listed among 2010 Mets with a .160 average.

Barring something unsightly, Fernando Tatis will forever be listed among 2010 Mets with a .185 average.

Barring something unwelcome, Gary Matthews, Jr. will forever be listed among 2010 Mets with a .190 average.
