Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Sunday, September 12th has been touted as Sunglasses Day for a while. Not that it's a huge promotion, but it's something. Now Sunglasses day has disappeared from the schedule. Are the Mets drawing so well that they can afford to take away promised promotions from its fans?

Or maybe the sponsor backed out last minute? That's deinitely weird though.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 It's not like these things cost the Mets anything. The geegaws are probably 100% underwritten by the sponsors.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Maybe the forecast says it's going to be overcast.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 It's not even like a bobblehead promotion, where you can opine that the player is about to be traded. It's just some stinkin' sunglasses.

HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say the sponsor backed out.
