G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 David looking for his first hit at Turner Field this season 0-for-20 entering this at-bat.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 David now 0-for-21 down Georgia way in 2010.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Offensively, every game now is a bad standup's joke: "Met people treat free baserunners like this, and other people treat free baserunners like THIS."Case in point.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Fuh-misched as the Yiddish-speaking Mets fans might say of the bottom of the first.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 It takes a Brave to beat a Brave: Go Frenchy!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 It takes a bad hop to turn a double play into a run-scoring single.I don't care. Hernandez is still a better option than Tejada at this point.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 (edited) What is this business? That man... that Met batted the other Met towards home! WITH HIS BAT!How strange! How vulgar, and yet... how exciting! Edited August 30, 2010 by Guest
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Luis Hernandez hasn't been with the team long enough that failure with runners in scoring position is the Met way. Pagan has been a rebel of sorts in his disregard for the team standard most of the season.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Two outs, nobody on.And now, three batters later, we're in the same place.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Mejia mowing 'em down tonight in Triple-A.Nice knowing ya, Pat.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 In retrospect, maybe Misch wasn't the best option against this lineup.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 This Chris Carter --- the one we've been keeping buried on the bench --- has reached three times. And Wright comes up as the tying run --- and pops up on the first pitch.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I can't get the TV feed and Howie and Wayne are talking about the roster makeup next year.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Now they're arguing about the appeal of Mejia for the pen.Booo! Booo, Mets broadcasters!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Bottom of the lineup doing it for the Mets tonight after a French single and a Thole trip.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Hernandez walks and Beltran is going to pinch-hit in the sixth.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2010 Author Posted August 30, 2010 Mejia tonight: 8.0 ip, 5h, 1r, 1bb, 9k. Wanna bet he takes the Misch start on Saturday?
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Beltran's case for staying in CF would be helped if he would hit.F U Carlos
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Pagan really crumbs it up by going down looking with one out and two runners in scoring position.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Mejia tonight: 8.0 ip, 5h, 1r, 1bb, 9k. Wanna bet he takes the Misch start on Saturday?[/quote:3hgmub5g]I freaking hope so, as I'll be there for his second scheduled start.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Bases jammed for Carter, who is perfect this evening.Cox is going to a lefty --- and Jerry has typicallly gone to a righthanded pinch hitter in these situations --- but he doesn't really have any effective pinch-hitters available, unless Reyes can bat righthanded. It's one of those things where if you treat a guy like he can't hit lefties, you make it true, but denying him any reps against them.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Pagan struck out on a pitch down the middle, no less.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Oh, well. They got into the pen, anyhow.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 And Carter is rotated out of the game. That was his first at-bat of the season against a lefty. Incredible.
