Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Injured? Uninjured? What up?I'm really baffled by the persistence of Operation Tejada and now he's got a new position to fill.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 That oblique is barking right? As for Tejada, a change is as good as a rest, maybe he'll start hitting.

Sounds like spring to me.Do the Mets pick up the 11 million dollar option for 2011???
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I think he's due that next year Ashie as the last year of that deal.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Reyes has an $11M team option or a buyout. As he missed most of last year, he's not even a Type B right now, so there'd be no compensation if the Mets let him go. There are a few factors to weigh concerning him, not the least of which is that he's still young and has upside. But I do think that $11M is a bit more than he's currently worth.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I'll be shocked if they don't either pick it up or use it as a starting point to negotiate a longer term deal this winter. As for the more immediate future, I ain't heard nuthin'.

I hear they're considering having him play RF because it shouldn't hurt as much as SS in the interim.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I guess I have to root for Operation Tejada to fail. If it suceeds the Wilpons might cheapen up to a Tejada/Keppinger middle.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I thought you were advocating for the replacement of Reyes with Tejada?

I personally would not want anyone else playing short and third for the Mets over the next 3 years.Yea, I'm a dreamer, read my sig.
