Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Inspired by the Oliver Perez thread:Who are the four Mets pitchers who have led the National League in walks? (Each of the four did it once.)On the flip side, one Mets hitter led the league in walks, and he also did it only once. Who was he?
Guest sharpie Guests Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Mike Torrez, Ron Darling for two of the pitchers.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2010 Author Posted June 17, 2010 Yup. Torrez in 1983 with 113 and Darling two years later with 114.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2010 Author Posted June 17, 2010 Not Piazza. Not Harrelson.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2010 Author Posted June 17, 2010 Olerud would probably have been my guess, if I didn't already know the answer. But no, it's not him.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2010 Author Posted June 17, 2010 Keith it is. He led the NL in 1986 with 94 walks.Still need two pitchers, in addition to Torrez and Darling. One was in the 1990's, and the other in the 2000's.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2010 Author Posted June 17, 2010 Nope, not Leiter. The 1990's guy is better remembered as a 1980's guy. The 2000's guy is still very fresh in our memories.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Victor Zambrano......nah right, never got enough starts I'd imagine.
