This just in. Ed Price of AOL Fanhouse reports that due to an unfortunate typo in an inter-office memo, the Mets have just signed 57 year old Jerry Hairston Sr. to a two-year deal. Physical scheduled for Monday.

I want an owner with flaming eyes and the touch of acid. Batwings and a piercing sonic scream. I want an owner who's ten feet tall if he's an inch. If there's ever a hostile force rolling into the city, I want to be able to say, "It's OK, my baseball team's owner is guarding the bridge." That's what I want in an owner.
