I'm pretty sure Monday is an off-day so why today? Perhaps Jerry needs another day to evaluate Tatis. I'm trying to win a fantasy championship so I need every player playing and Jerry gives Wright the day off on the penultimate day of the season. (I am aware that you don't care about my fantasy team.) He can't be fired fast enough for me. Dave Lennon thinks that Jerry wants to make sure that Wright finishes above .300. He's at .308 now. Even if he goes 0-4, he's still at .305.The Padres and Blue Jays have fired their GMs but Omar is still the Mets GM.Beltran scratched. Edited October 3, 2009 by Guest
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Manuel speaks in pre-game conference.."Reyes can be productive in 2010 even if he has lost a step or 2"Thanks Jerry, now clean out your fucking officeGood luck with your fantasy team..Lost on the last day once..Whole team was sitting.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2009 Author Posted October 3, 2009 Thanks Ashie. I enjoyed Gary's questioning of Jerry's explanation for scratching Beltran. Jerry said that it was because this is a day game after a night game. Gary said that this game was always scheduled as a day game after a night game.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Yeah, that sums up Manuel's preparation issues pretty well.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Jerry says Sheffield has more good offensive baseball in him and the pitching needs workMaybe Sheffield & Misch are two of the "player signings" being considered in the management's letter to fans
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Tying run on deck. Time to go for the cheap save.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Maybe Sheffield & Misch are two of the "player signings" being considered in the management's letter to fans[/quote:3ipuwli1]Does this in any way characterize this team?
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Anyone see that fan catch Francouer's foul ball in the bottom of the 8th, keeping the at-bat going? That was D-Dad.If that had led to a run, I would have been tempted to give him some Schaefer
dgwphotography Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I just watched it on the replay - there were a couple of angles of it showing how he reached over the wall to make the catch, and you could see all of us..
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Crap, it was just on and ends at 9 on SNY. I could have watchedthe last couple of innings.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 If anyone Tivo'd the game, I'd love a screen shot....
dgwphotography Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I Tivoed the replay. Once I go through the images yesterday, I'll see if I can do something with it...
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I'm intrigued and puzzled by the paperclip icon next to the thread title.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Paperclip means there's an attachment.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I'm certain I'm misreading this, but DD seems to be reaching onto the field of play.Anyways, good for him.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 EDC: DD seems to be reaching onto the field of play <<<If it was an important game, he could be on Letterman Tuesday.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Hunter Pence appears to be afraid of a blow from DD-Dad
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 D-Dad was nowhere close to making contact with Pence. But he may have been in the field of play. Which is why he was so nonchalant afterwards, lest an umpire thought to eject him from the game.If it were an Astro at bat, he never would have done that. But with a Met at bat (and a meaningless game), he gave it his all.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Here I am all afraid you'd get mad at me again for even the implication that he might be possibly a smidge guilty, and it turns out he's probably guilty. Hilarious.Congratulations to the big kid. Way to play it cool.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I'm insanely jealous too.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 The kicker is that the ball has a nice Citi Field inaugural season logo on it -It's a nice companion to the ball that Angel Pagan tossed to him during BP last month -

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Was there a beer cup in the glove prior?48 years of games I haven't come close to getting one
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Was there a beer cup in the glove prior?48 years of games I haven't come close to getting one[/quote:umtd74qa]LOL no - he's not a beer drinker. And even if he were, there are cup holders at the new stadium.D-Dad has been bringing his glove to games as long as I've known him, but this was the first time he caught a ball. He was really thrilled. When you look at the reaction shot, you can see that MK is the only one among us who saw that his dad had the ball.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I'm watching the Mets play at CitiFieldAnd Jeff Francoeur hits a foul ball at me like a chumpAnd I caught it, because, you know, I had my glove onAnd the ump is all You reached into the field of playI THREW IT ON THE GROUND!!I ain't a part of your system! What?! You think my name is Bartman?!Im an adult and I can buy my own baseball! The moral of this story is: you cant trust the system!
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2009 Author Posted October 6, 2009 Well done and timely, Edgy.
