The Giants offered you something but you wanted more. You said that you had an obligation to filed a competitive team so you declined the offer. You end up getting nothing for Sheffield (who cost you nothing, you paid him nothing, and he won't be back next season) and you don't achieve your goal of fielding a "competitive team." Guest Kong76 Guests Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 A62: unwatchable <<<I'm easy to please, Ralph is in the booth.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 BNlanco's roberry of Francoeur last inning is as good a shortstop play as you will see. It was absolutely sick.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 We'll be seeing that throw for a few days.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Big Pelf goes seven! (at least)Good guys 2, bad guys 1
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Way to go Murphy! I know he's been a disappointment, but I really like Murph. It's too little, too late, but nice to see him getting it together. I hope this can be a learning and growing year, and he does well in 2010.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Murph's triple fuld fooled.
Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Ralph, as always, was great. The tall glass of water is a completely different (and effective) pitcher when he throws stikes and picks up the pace. I think he needs a good pitching coach or sports psychologist in the off-season.CSB is shining down on us...I can tell.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 LET! PELF! BAT!LET! PELF! BAT!LET! PELF! BAT!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Evans fans instead. What did the Giants offer for Sheffield?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Rodriguez seems to have control today.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 What the hell is Frankie doing? The guys in the booth think he's hurt.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Phew!!!First series win since late July!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 He started overthrowing, bouncing a lot of two-strike curves.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Fun game. Hard to believe it was the first weekend and first day game I've been to at Citi Field all season. Only noticeable difference is that the out of town scoreboard is a lot more readable during the day than at night.Glad to see Pelfrey get things back together, even if it was against a B-lineup for the Cubs.Though Sullivan loafed it going after Soto's first double but the sliding catch in foul territory in the 8th was nice.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 My other ticket was going to be unused and I got lazy. IfI knew at least one CPFr was going I might have went.Oh well, kind of a lost season to me anyways.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Sorry we didn't mention it. Actually ran into G-Fafif in the draconian security line.

Actually ran into G-Fafif in the draconian security line.[/quote:9bq7sirm]Twenty-nine games Citi Field this season with a bottle of water and a bottle of diet cola in my bag, each slightly consumed en route. Twenty-seven times security didn't look, didn't care, didn't notice. Twice, today being one of them, a thorough search and removal of the liquids.Draconian? Sometimes. Baffling? Often.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 On Friday they searched my camera backpack pretty thoroughly. Maybe they're cracking down for the pennant drive....
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Is there anyone here who doesn't reflexively cringe when he hears any sort of player move has been made/is being discussed by the Mets FO?
