Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Whether you like Manuel or not, what's going on here? Why does he ignore church for days against righties, and then finally start him against the lefties (I don't even buy into he can't hit lefties, but if you're going to choose 2-3 days to sit him..)Where is Murphy? He hit a little slide, but why bench him for three days? Especially with the lineup short? Sheffield's coming around a bit, but he's still hitting .200. Murphy!! And Tatis has been pretty hot as of late, why sit him tonight, as much as I support getting Reed some AB cause he's been way overlooked.. If Manuel's serious about putting Murphy at first, why put Reed there tonight?
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I've been to five reliable sites and have yet to see a lineup posted.I mentioned this in the IGT, but bmf didn't answer me about wherehe got his from.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 15, 2009 Author Posted May 15, 2009 I haven't seen an official lineup either, but metsblog and twitter and a bunch of places seem to confirm it. Kevin Burkhart's twitter..you'd assume he'd know.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Just asking, see Twitter thread in the NBF ... I'm losing my geekdom to time.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Sheffield's BA is low, but he is getting on base. He actually has a higher OBP and OPS than Murphy.Murphy : Avg - .272 OBP - .336 SLG - .417 OPS - .754Sheffield: Avg - .218 OBP - .368 SLG - .418 OPS - .786
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 15, 2009 Author Posted May 15, 2009 Come on..you'd really rather see Sheffield? Do we really think he'll even return to what he was three years ago? Whereas supposedly Murphy is in the long term plans of this team.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I got the lineups from The Post. It's also posted at Newsday and the News. Every game day, about 3 hours before game time, Lennon (Newsday) and Hubbach (Post) tweet that the lineups are ready. Rubin doesn't tweet but posts them around the same time at his blog.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 No, just presenting the facts you left out because they didn't support your rant.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 The link for David Wright on www.baseball-reference.com has a lineup posted a couple of hours before the game when all else fails.
