metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Indians not following the script in the Bronx , lead 5 - 3 top of the fifth.Cubs take and early 2-0 lead over the Cardinals
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Jobba the Fat can't get out of the 5th. Heh. I predict he'lll be recast as the savior of the MFY bullpen problem by the time $-Rod is back.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2009 Author Posted April 17, 2009 I think they over hyped the guy , lots of pitchers can throw hard. Luckily they have Phil or Ian to take his rotation spot....
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 They've apparently relieved Chamberlain with a corporate sponsor.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2009 Author Posted April 17, 2009 Was it too early for Ronan Tynan?
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Bazooka Joe Smith whiffs Cap'n Crotch with the tying run on 2nd. Indians still up 5-4, end of 6.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Joe was the only guy I wanted to keep from the '08 bullpen. Although I understand that he had to go in the trade we made.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Meanwhile the Cards and Cubs are keeping the Wrigley scoreboard operator busy, a 5-5 game in the bottom fifth. Big Z has given up all five on 7 hits. Trever Miller on for St. Lou.Ryan Ludwick has his fourth dinger for the Cards.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Don't watch or read any NY- area sports coverage in the next 18 hours...you'll get sick. Jeter just hit a go-ahead HR in the bottom of the 8th.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2009 Author Posted April 17, 2009 I guess the opening is official now....
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Perhaps True Yankee Mariano Rivera will come on to save it.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2009 Author Posted April 17, 2009 Jeter did it , what a player. It's an honour to be a baseball fan at this time , to be witness to such greatness. Every hit now an exclamation point on a HOF career. In years to come there will be rotunda's built in his name.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Wow. In Minnesota, Jason Kubel just completed the cycle, with a grand slam in the bottom of the 8th, taking the Twins from down 9-7 to up 11-9.He's getting laid tonight.
