Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 The Mets have the starting out there save Wright who comes back tomorrow. Mets.com actually has Matt DeSalvo playing first and batting cleanup. But I'm assuming that's an error. In fact, I'm demanding it.LaRussa going with the pitcher-eighth look.New YorkSt. LouisReyes, J, SSCastillo, 2BBeltran, CFDelgado, 1BMurphy, LFChurch, RFValentin, Jo, 3BSchneider, CMaine, PSchumaker, 2BAnkiel, CFPujols, 1BDuncan, LFGreene, K, SSMolina, Y, CFreese, 3BWainwright, PRasmus, RF
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Can there be such a thing as a big start in Spring Training? Maine makes for some dire reading in the papers lately.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Your home-plate umpire: Angel F-ing Hernandez!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Not much of an issue if Maine can't find home plate.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 To be fair, Skip Schumaker (giftee of 2 of Maine's three walks) is a pretty wee fella.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Maine has settled his ass down, and gone the next three innings scoreless and walkless.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I thought he was cured!Uh.Maine's on my enemies list until further notice
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Five-run rally of substantial hugeness puts those who are Metly on top 7-3. Omir Santos, whom Steve hates the sight of, had the big hit with a two-run jobbie.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Maine seemed to settle down somewhat... and he was facing the A-squad, for what it's worth.Safe to say that young Mr. Parnell-- with another scoreless-- has traveled from He'sGotAShot-Land to WhyTheHellAreTheySendingHimDown-Ville, no?

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 It was a tease. The rally extended to seven and the mets won 9-5.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Omir Santos had one homer in 297 AB's at Norfolk (he was in the Orioles' organization) last year. He has two homers in 15 spring training at bats so far. Probably not a meaningful stat, but definitely an odd one.
