I got to bed at 12:30 last night, but had enough wakey left to read Jason's foreword to Faith and Fear in Flushing, and a big part of it was about the facility with which Greg pulls Met-based facts out of his ass. Not just the player and the result of a play, but how those players had been doing, the date of the game, who he was sitting with, what they were wearing, how they were doing that day. And there he goes again, and I didn't even see him unbuckle his belt and drop his pants. So, Greg, what was Johnny wearing? The Members Only again?

Ironically, I can recall what Greg was wearing that day: A black Mets t-shirt with ALFONZO 13 on the back. It was also an awkward meeting in that I think we were both just sitting there waiting for the other to reveal himself into the first inning, which I'm certain caused the Mets to lose even if I didn't say so.

Arranged with JCL to meet at one of the gates where, in fact, many were meeting and had never bothered to mention a distinguishing characteristic, nor receive one from him. I wore Alfonzo 13 because he was the Numbers guy. I was a little surprised that Mr. MBTN did not bear any number. Took a while to pick each other out. It was also slightly embarrassing for me because some relatives with a season box were supposed to leave me two tix but left me only one, so I had to mutter "uh, we gotta buy one." There's more to this, but I do believe I've got a Flashback Friday in the making here, so I'll have to regroup a bit down the road with this. I remember Dan Murray because, well, it was Dan Murray's only appearance.
