Howie Freiling: Mets lifer. He was a minor league prospect drafted in 1989, topped out at AAA, minor league coach, manager, scout, and most recently special assignement scout.

Howie Freiling: His resume looks like a graveyard of Met affiliates. Pittsfield? Yup! Captial City? Yup! Norfolk? Word! But he still stuck around long enough to manage Jose Reyes and coach David Wright on their ways up, before moving on to the scouting staff.

Howie Freiling: Signed away by his hometown Phillies.
