Kennedy beaten off the mound, 2+ IP, 5 Runs, 9 hits. Yeah, he & Melky were too much to give up.

Melky, meanwhile, is 76th of 79 qualifying American Leaguers in OPS.

Number 75 is Carlos Gomez. Win-win there for us.

Angels add it on late for 10-5 win - after several early Yanx comebacks including Xavier's 5th NYY HR

Rays hang on in Seattle

]St. Louis @ Cubs
Cuns win walkoff in the 11th on Henry Blanco 1B

Yanx not only looked like they were about to beat John Lackey for the 2nd straight time but also come out on top of a Lackey-vs-Dan Geise matchup.
They led 2-0 and then 3-1 before the Angels tied it with 2 in the 7th and then threw up an 8-spot in the 8th off the MFY pen.

* Phils beats Pitt amid a screaming match between Brett Myers and mgr Charlie Manuel. Hot head apparently thought he was pulled too early.
Gap stays at 1 full game
Tody: Jason Davis vs Moyer

* Cards strike back at Cubs 12-3, smacking 4 HRs off Zambrano (who hit one himself - his 3rd of the year and [u:88e53e7fda]15th of his career[/u:88e53e7fda]!!)
They'll be the ESPN game tonight; Carpenter vs Demster

* TB wins in the 11th in Seattle.
They didn't waste any time with Bradford, throwing him in for a scoreless 9th (2 baserunners)
Lead the ALEast by 3.5 (Bos) and 7.5 (MFY)

Phils win - back to a 2 game defecit

ChiSox beat BoSox (to take 2 of 3) and take back 1st place from Mini-soda

Angels complete the sweep of Yanx.
Game was tied in the 9th when the Angels got 2 on against Marte. So Girardi brought in Rivera and Chone Figgins promptly bounced his first pitch through a hole for the win

TB wins again (swept Seattle) which not only increased their lead over Boston & NY to 4.5 & 8.5 but also set a franchise record for most wins in a season ever (72).
