Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Weaver's error was properly scored as one, although it was a tougher play than the one they gave Jeter a pass on yesterday.As the story mentions, this one doesn't qualify as a REAL no-hitter.MLB went through its record books a bunch of years ago and threw out a whole slew of "asterick" no-hitters including those less than 9 innings (like this one or those shortened by rain), those lost in extra innings (Haddix, Maloney et al), plus a bunch of other oddities.
